Real Madrid secured a dramatic 4-3 victory over Olympiacos in a high-scoring Champions League showdown on Wednesday. The match, part of the fifth round of the main stage, was played at Karaiskakis Stadium and saw both sides trading momentum in a tense battle until the final whistle.

Olympiacos struck first, but Real Madrid responded through an explosive performance led by Kylian Mbappé, who delivered a stunning four-goal display to complete the comeback.

Olympiacos Strike Early Before Mbappé Takes Over

The home side opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Chiquinho fired a powerful long-range strike past Andriy Lunin, giving Olympiacos an early advantage.
Real Madrid responded quickly, and Mbappé leveled the match in the 22nd minute after breaking free on goal and finishing calmly.

Just two minutes later, the French star headed in his second to turn the score around, before completing a blistering first-half hat-trick in the 29th minute following a through-ball from Eduardo Camavinga. Vinícius Júnior nearly added another before halftime but missed a clear one-on-one chance in the 44th minute.

Olympiacos Fight Back but Madrid Hold On

Olympiacos came out aggressively in the second half and reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute through Mehdi Taremi, who powered a header into the net.
Mbappé, however, responded again in the 60th minute, scoring his fourth of the night with a driven finish after a setup from Vinícius.

The hosts refused to fold, and Ayoub El Kaabi made it 4-3 in the 81st minute with another precise header, setting up a tense finale. Despite late pressure, Real Madrid’s defense held firm to secure the win away from home.

Madrid Rise in Standings as Olympiacos Fall Behind

With the victory, Real Madrid climb to 12 points and move into fifth place in the Champions League main-stage standings. Olympiacos remain in 33rd position with just two points and are still searching for their first win of the round.

Arda Güler, Federico Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Vinícius all started alongside Mbappé, while Olympiacos fielded Francisco Ortega, Daniel Podence, Rodinei, and El Kaabi in their lineup.
