David Adam Williams, Early YouTube Pioneer Known as “Adam the Woo,” Dies at 51
David Adam Williams, one of YouTube’s earliest and most recognizable content creators—best known to millions as Adam the Woo—has died at the age of 51, authorities confirmed.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said the popular vlogger was found deceased inside his home in Florida on Monday, December 22. An investigation is ongoing, and his cause of death has not yet been determined.
Discovery at His Florida Home
According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, deputies initially visited the residence after concerns were raised about the homeowner’s well-being.
“The residence was secured, and no contact was made with the adult male residing there,” a spokesperson said.
Authorities later returned to the home at 2:53 p.m. after a friend borrowed a ladder and looked through a third-story window.
“The friend observed a male lying on a bed who was not moving,” the statement continued.
Deputies entered the home with assistance from the fire department, where Williams was pronounced deceased. Officials emphasized that the death is being treated as an unattended death, with further details pending the conclusion of the investigation.

A Trailblazer of Early YouTube
Williams began his YouTube journey in 2009, at a time when daily vlogging was still in its infancy. Over the years, he built a massive and loyal following through his channel The Daily Woo, documenting his travels across all 50 U.S. states.
His content focused on:
- Urban exploration
- Theme parks and roadside attractions
- Abandoned locations
- Small-town America and historic sites
Unlike high-energy or heavily edited creators, Williams became known for his calm, laidback style, which many viewers described as relaxing and deeply personal. His videos felt less like productions and more like conversations—inviting audiences along for the journey.
His Final Video
Just one day before his death, Williams uploaded what would become his final video. In it, he casually walked through his hometown of Celebration, Florida, showcasing local Christmas decorations.
The video, now viewed by fans as a poignant farewell, reflected everything his audience loved about him—simplicity, warmth, and a genuine appreciation for everyday moments.

Chris Yon, a close friend and fellow creator, wrote on Instagram:

“The world has lost a giant, and I have lost a friend closer to me than blood.”
