Los Angeles County prosecutors have confirmed that Nick Reiner, 32, will be formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of his parents — legendary film director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner.
The announcement was made Tuesday by Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman, two days after the couple were found stabbed to death inside their Brentwood home on Sunday afternoon.
Reiner is currently being held without bail, according to authorities. Prosecutors have not yet disclosed a potential motive, but confirmed that the case will move forward in court later today.
