Texans Defense Dominates Bills in Prime-Time Statement Win The Houston Texans proved once again why they entered Week 12 with the NFL’s top-ranked defense, delivering a commanding 23–19 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night.

Buffalo arrived in Houston riding one of the league’s hottest offenses, led by MVP quarterback Josh Allen, who had scored six touchdowns the previous week. But against Houston, the Bills looked nothing like the explosive unit they had been all season.

The Texans sacked Allen eight times — the most in his career — and pressured him on a third of his dropbacks. Rookie safety Calen Bullock turned in the best performance of his young NFL career, forcing three turnovers, including the game-sealing interception in the final seconds.

Houston’s defensive front, anchored by Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter, collapsed the pocket all night. Their relentless pressure forced hurried throws, stalled drives, and kept Buffalo out of rhythm from start to finish.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans praised Bullock after the game, calling his late interception “the moment that sealed everything.” Despite a controversial block-in-the-back penalty erasing a pick-six earlier in the game, Bullock still finished with two interceptions and a forced fumble — becoming one of the only players since 2024 to record such a stat line in a regular-season matchup.

The victory moves Houston to 6–5, keeping them firmly in the AFC playoff hunt. With a Week 13 showdown against division-leading Indianapolis up next, the Texans suddenly look like a team capable of making a late-season push.

“We step on the field believing we’re the best unit out there,” Bullock said postgame.
On Thursday night, they played like it.
